Hawk time is designed to assist middle school
students and teachers in developing a positive school climate across grade levels.
The goal of this program is to develop and fine-tune skills that may be used by students
in classroom and community settings. Activities promote student success, build
confidence, build positive teacher/student rapport, and teach social skills, like using
good manners and showing respect for self and others. |

Students have access to state-of-the-art computer
lab. |

Students experience learning through hands-on
instruction and authentic assessment. |
|
Interscholastic academic and athletic programs are
available for students in seventh and eighth grades. |
|
Students participate in academic
competitions--spelling bee, geography bee, math competitions, future problem solving, mock
trial, and knowledge master. |
|
Guidance services are available to assist students
with study skills, organization skills, goal setting, and general problem solving. |
|
5-8 students demonstrate decision-making skills by
serving on Leadership Council. |
|
Average class size is 22 students. |
|
Students participate in exploratory classes--art,
Spanish, computers, World of Work I and II, industrial arts, and family consumer science. |
|
Students are involved in band, chorus, honor bands,
honor choirs, National Junior Honor Society, science fair, history night, and school
musicals. |
|
TAG, Title I, Student Assistance Team, and Special
Education programs are available to meet the needs of all students. |
