Alternative Education Programs--These services
are offered through Job Corps of Iowa for High School students for whom education in the
regular classroom is not appropriate. |

Community-Based Early Childhood Program--This
program for pre-school children is designed to help children gain socialization skills and
readiness skills and to help children experience activities which lead to future school
success. |

Deaf Education Programs--This is an
educational program for pupils requiring special education due to a hearing deficit.
One teacher and one interpreter are employed for this program. |
|
General Education Programs--All citizens
(general education teachers, special education teachers, support staff, parents, students,
AEA personnel, administrators, community members) have a vested interest in the total
educational program and are accountable and responsible for facilitating the process and
implementing strategies through which students are able to meet their fullest potential. |

Jump Start Program--This program is designed
to build student confidence, provide students with necessary math and reading concept
review, and motivate students for a successful up-coming school year. |

Learning Center (K-12)--This is an educational
program for individuals who are enrolled in the general education curriculum for the
majority of the day, but require specially designed instruction in specific skill areas on
a part-time basis. |

Self-Contained Special Class (7-12)--This
unique community-based special education program is designed to meet the needs of MD
students through a functional academic leisure, and social skills. A life skills
room has been added at IKM for hands-on experience. |

Special Class with Integration (K-8)--This
program is designed for students who have similar educational needs and who can benefit
from participation in the general educational curriculum for one or more academic
offerings from the general education curriculum. |
